DBT Skills Training is a vital part of DBT program participation. Sometimes, therapists will suggest that their client participate in DBT Skills Training as an adjunct to regular individual psychotherapy. While this can be helpful, you should be aware that DBT, as it was designed and as it has been researched throughout the past 40 years, consists of both skills training and individual therapy. Individual support by an intensively trained DBT therapist is vital to help you practice the skills you learn in your own unique set of circumstances.
